Oh...hallo!

A weekend in Munich, Germany and another Perugian reunion!

Munich delivered early on with colorful trees which reminded me of Fall back home.
I was beginning to worry I'd miss out on the leaves this year, haha!
While walking around the city's historic center, we found a "Free Tibet" demonstration. There was quite a crowd.
On the Sunday we left, we had a fantastic time walking through the English Garden and looking at all the snow-covered trees. There were plenty of snowball fights that day, too!
What a difference the snow made.
Someone was a little cold, though. :)
Johan plotting to hit us all with snowballs...
Definitely not what Italy looked like that weekend!
Antonia's favorite church in Munich, the Theatine Church.
How Gothic!
After climbing a tower, I got some cool shots of the city's skyline.
The best picture that weekend! Not only is there a Jamaican snowman involved, there was also a completely random guy who decided to photobomb us (far left). Nattapol's face is priceless.
I told you.
Car ride back to Johannes's place, just before leaving. To be honest, I hadn't even considered visiting Germany while abroad, but I am very glad I did!

Giro fotografico: Perugia #1

A tour of home base through pictures.

Via Acquedotto at night.
Perugia, as seen from the top of Monteripido's steep steps.
Another shot of Perugia rooftops.
Taken from Porta Sole. You might remember a similar shot from August?
Dynamic!

Dove mangiare è incontrarsi

The Perugian reunions didn't end in September! In October, I was lucky enough to see some of my classmates and friends from August again. Here's our weekend in Parma & Bologna (two cities renowned for their culinary traditions -- meaning we ate very well that weekend)!

Silvia (Germany), Rebekka (Germany), and Nattapol (Thailand) in Parma!
I have a fondness for pigeons. I've heard them described as flying rats, but I don't think that's completely fair and, in any case, they're always willing subjects for my photography.
Smile!
They don't usually realize what's happening until they notice the camera lens pointed right at them.
You think about that!
There were bikes everywhere! A huge contrast to hilly Perugia.
Sitting outside of Parma's cathedral, we noticed a little boy chasing a pigeon with his stroller. Comical, to say the least!
Buildings in Parma, a very quiet town.
Over and over again.
Parmesan (parmigiano)! I wonder why we use the French word in English, even though it is an Italian creation?
We spent Saturday night and Sunday morning in Bologna, one of my favorite cities in Italy. I didn't get many pictures, partly because I have already been and partly because there was so much going on. Here's one of the few shots I took, though: an Earth-tone painted street.

Roma, che non sorridi quasi mai

Having been advised October was the best month in which to visit Rome, I waited five months to take the 3-hour trip and was not disappointed! Here's a spectacular mid-October weekend in Rome through pictures:

Two of my travel buddies, my English friend Henry & Raff.
Fiat 500 in proportion to a 21-year-old Brit.
The Friday night we arrived, the sky looked amazing.
Saturday was a rainy day, so we decided to head to the Vatican Museums. My Belgian friend Oli poses with Constantine's head.
"No pictures," the signs said...
The Sistine Chapel in all (well, half) of its glory.
The massive Basilica of St. Peter left us speechless. Thoughts were pondered on that day.
From the outside at dusk. Beautiful.
My friends and I were lucky enough to meet up with my American friend Jackie, who teaches in Rome. She's a great hostess! It was a great way to wrap up our Saturday.
Sunday = the Colosseum & the Roman Forum!
Adele's knitted cap had to be photographed.
Oh, hello, Roman Forum!
Great picture-taking opportunity!
"Veni..."
"Vedi..."
Roman subway grafitti!
Before leaving, the four of us each had a slice of watermelon for a euro. Friendship and watermelon, haha. I'll be back, Rome!

Tempio di Sant'Angelo

A 5-minute walk from Monteripido, il Tempio di Sant'Angelo is the oldest standing church in Perugia. It is one of my favorite places in the city, not only for its tranquility, but also because the grassy area in front is perfect for spending a lazy Saturday with friends. Just as I did this past Saturday with our new English friends (who are hilarious!). Eccolo qua:

Some physical activity after our feast!
